The Economy

How it works

Aside from buying and selling claim blocks and some spawn shops, the economy is entirely based on the players. You can pay players for their services, items, etc. You can also securely trade items and money with players and buy and sell items on the Community Market.

Checking your balance

To check how much money you have, the easiest option is to look at the scoreboard on the right side of your screen. The section that ways "Wealth" is how much money you have.

You can also check your balance with commands, using either /bal or /balance.

Server leaderboard

To see how much money the richest players have on the server, use /baltop or /balancetop. This will show you a leaderboard containing the richest players on the server, their wealth, and the total money on the server.

Sending money

You can send money to players using /pay <username <amount>. This will directly transfer money from your account to theirs.

Trading with players

You can trade any combination of items and money with other players. When you initiate a trade with someone, they'll be asked to accept or deny your request. If they accept, you'll both enter a menu where you can set up what you want to trade. Simply drag the items you want to trade into the left side of the menu and/or click on the golden nugget to change the amount of money you want to add. You can both see each other's items and the amount of money you want to trade. When you're ready to trade, click the red clay to indicate that you're ready. When both players are ready, a 3 second countdown will start, and when the time is up, the items and money will be transferred to their respective players.

To initiate a trade, run /trade <username>. You can also hold shift and right click the player.

Warning

If your inventory is too full to take all the items you're receiving, some items will fall on the ground.

Shops

You can buy and sell certain items at spawn. Also, members can create shops to sell whatever they want. Anyone can buy things from the community shop.

Finding shops

In the world spawn (/spawn), there are a few different shops you can use. You can visit the Community Market, The Apothecary, the Fish Market, and the Decoration Store.

Buying items

Head to spawn to see what you can buy. There are some infinite shops around, but you can also buy items from other players in the community shop. Talk to the NPC at the shop and use the menu to buy items.

Community Shop

Selling items

You can sell certain items around spawn for money. Members can list almost any item in the Community Market.

Selling to NPCs

In each shop around spawn, aside from the Community Market, you can sell specific items to NPCs. This is a good way to make money. At the Fish Market, you can sell fish, and at The Apothecary, you can sell monster drops.

Listing on the Community Market (requires Member rank)

To list an item on the community market, hold the item you want to sell in your hand. When you're holding an item, run /sell <quantity> <price>. This will add the item to your shop for people to buy. You'll be charged a 20% deposit for listing an item, but you'll get it back if your item sells or expires. The only case where you won't get your deposit back is if your listing is cancelled.

The price you set is for the entire quantity of items you're selling. If, for example, you list 10 diamonds for $20, someone can buy all 10 diamonds for $20. They can also just buy some. If they buy 1, it'll cost them $2.
